Tuition: $350   

This six-week class is designed for students with any level of painting experience.  Beth provides a nurturing environment for sharing material techniques and design principles.  Students will practice painting from life as well as using their own photos for source material.

*For Intermediate / Returning Students: If your schedule permits, please come at 5:30 for the first class to discuss your project before Beth reviews introductory material with the beginner students.

Students should provide their own materials, however Beth can provide some essentials for students with limited supplies.

Favorite paint brands:

+  Suggested paints: (*prioritize these)

*Titanium White

Ivory Black

*Ultramarine Blue

*Transparent Red Oxide

Alizarin Crimson

*Cadmium Red Medium

Cadmium Orange Medium

Cadmium Yellow Medium

*Lemon Yellow

*Yellow Ochre

Sap Green

*Viridian

Cobalt Blue

*Dioxazine purple or Ultramarine Purple

Magenta

Brights as needed by Gamblin

Pthalo blues and greens for intensity

+  Painting mediums:

Gamblin Gamsol (mineral spirits for thinning and cleaning)

Refined Linseed Oil (to mix half and half with Gamsol for more flow)

Gamblin Gel Medium

+  Disposable palette or Glass palette (I prefer gray instead of white)

Either that can fit inside a portable lidded container can be helpful

+ Brush varieties:

A range of long and short handles

A range of sizes in Bristle and Hair

Flat

Bright

Filbert

Round

A few pallet knives are good for mixing and paint application too

+  Paper towels and Jars with lids!

+  Stretched and Primed Canvas or Gesso Board

For beginners: 8x10—12x16 to start

Any size for returning or more experienced students
